Alan Dunn started cake decorating and flower making in the 1980's. His grandfather was a baker - so, it was no surprise that he would combine his artistic ability and follow in his grandfather's footsteps. Alan has now become one of the sugarcraft worlds leading authors and tutors, highly respected for his realistic sugar and cold porcelain flowers. He continues to teach extensively around the world as well as Online Masterclasses which started early in 2020. He has a relaxed and informative teaching style. Alan wrote his first book in 1994 and has since written a huge number of books on the art of sugarcraft and flower making. In 2022 Alan was invited to be part of the team who worked on Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee Celebration cake which was commissioned a gifted by Pladis/McVitie.
